Dr Shelton Jeyaratnam was on the Infection Control Committee for the Australian Dental Association, thus ensuring our surgery and all staff continuously maintain and exceed the gold standard of hygiene and infection control within the practice. Landale Dental was also awarded full accreditation with the NSQHS Standards for Dental Practice Accreditation. We are also proud to say that all the plastic bags and coverings we use are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Our surgery also practices the safe removal of amalgam (mercury) fillings to ensure it doesn’t enter Victorian water supplies by having additional amalgam separators connected to our dental chairs. Practice Accreditation is not mandatory in Australia (less than 20% of dental clinics are accredited) but it is something we at Landale Dental chose to take part of to demonstrate our high quality standards and commitment to patient safety. Special thanks to our hard working team of clinicians, support staff and our practice administrator for their hard work. We have been accredited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards! All our clinicians are also members of the relevant Australian Dental Association or ADOHTA, and licensed health professionals with AHPRA, Australian Dental Board, and the Radiation Department of Health & Human Services.

Australian infection control standards. We are proud to say:
- All the plastic coverings we use are biodegradable.
- Our surgery practices the safe removal of amalgam (mercury) fillings with the use of amalgam separators to ensure it doesn’t enter the water mains, even though this protocol is not mandatory in Victoria. We also use rubber dam isolation of the teeth during removal of the amalgam fillings.
- We use very low radiation digitally scanned (chemical free) xray sensors.
- We always use hospital grade steam autoclaves for sterilisation
- We are in the process of becoming a paperless practice, so be sure to provide us with your email address at your next visit.
- Our white resin filling materials have minimal to negligible traces of BPA. We also use ceramic restorations which are 100% BPA free.
- We are walking distance from bus stops and the Box Hill train station, so why not walk to your next visit or ride your bike! We also have ample free parking if needed.
Although we maintain a homely charm, we keep up to date with current Australian Dental Association standards and modern practices. Dr Shelton Jeyaratnam was also on the infection control committee for the Australian Dental Association ensuring our surgery is always exceeding and maintaining standards.
